Ranchi, Jharkhand

Ranchi is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand and has played a significant role amongst the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Orissa, western West Bengal and the eastern area of present-day Chhattisgarh. The Jharkhand state was formed in the year 2000 by carving out the Bihar divisions of Chota Nagpur and Santhal Parganas. The name Ranchi is derived from the Oraon word for bamboo grove or stave. According to legend, after an altercation with a spirit, a farmer beat the spirit with his bamboo stave.

Vizag (Andhra pradesh)

On February February 1, 2014, 38 leaders from Vizag gathered at the Novotel Hotel for an in depth dialogue hosted by Nizar Juma, an Industrialist from Kenya and facilitated by Anthony Phelips from UK. Jyoti Kiran brought up the aspect of responsibility, "Being responsible not only to myself but also to others has helped in my personal as well as professional conduct.” K Parvathi Kumar added, "When you attend to your responsibilities in life concurrently, you get power." Suhasini Anand, Playback Singer, "To be successful in life, you need to adopt the qualities of hard work and belief in the true path." Prof RGB Bhagavath Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Law University added, "Keep your mind and heart pure and simple, the rest of the things will take care of themselves."

On 25 January 2014, at the Gateway Hotel, 60 leaders gathered for a dialogue. Nizar Juma opened the event with a question, "What is power? The more powerful you are, the more power you want. Everyone wants power in one form or the other. We want to explore whether the kind of power we want is beneficial for all."

In the very ancient and historic city of Patna, 52 participants attended the 'future of power' dialogue at the Paliputra Exotica Hotel on December 14, 2013. Nizar Juma opened the dialogue, "It is not a question of 'if' or 'when'... world power will definitely come to India. Are we ready to be custodians of this power in benevolent way?"

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh)

The Landmark Hotel hosted 52 leaders from various professions for our dialogue. It began with an introduction by Nizar Juma, highlighting how "world power has shifted from Bharat to other countries and is on the verge of coming back following the law which states that everything moves in a cyclic fashion." The discussions focused on sensitivity, aptly summarised by Girish Pande, Income Tax Commissioner, "When we are connecting and being sensitive it is spirituality. Be sensitive to family, nature, society, nation and universe; this is the sign of strength."

At the Hotel Crowne Plaza on 23rd November 2013, 52 eminent leaders from all over Kerala, participated in a very rich dialogue on 'the future of power'. In his opening talk, Nizar Juma, an Industralist from Kenya and the Initiator of the dialogue series, explained, "Spirituality is the state of elevated thoughts and actions which can change your life by bringing awareness to the intellect."

Mangalore (Karnataka)

Fourty four leaders gathered at the Ocean Pearl Hotel for a deeply inspired dialogue on 'the future of power' on October 26, 2013. In his opening address, Nizar Juma, Initiator of 'the future of power' from Kenya, stated quite emphatically, "Whatever needs to be changed, needs to be changed now. When you become angry, you become less intelligent”. Capt. Ganesh Karnik later elaborated on this, "To be always intending to live a new life, but never find time to set about it like putting off eating and drinking until he is starved and destroyed."

Forty six leaders from all walks of life attended the Rajkot Dialogue at the Imperial Palace Hotel on 16th November, 2013. Nizar Juma, an Industralist from Kenya and the Initiator of this series of dialogues, opened the dialogue with the comment "It is not a matter of 'if' power will come to Bharat. It is coming back to Bharat.

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh)

Nizar Juma opened the Bilaspur dialogue at the Hotel East Park on September 28, 2013. "We have many laws against corruption but nothing will change until an individual decides to make spirituality part of their daily life." Anthony Phelips from the UK facilitated and one of the local organisers described the harmony created as 'weaved together like a poem'. There was a richness of experience in the dialogue. Vivek Bajpai, shared his experience of travelling with a convoy of political leaders in May 2013, "We were attacked by Naxalites in Bastar. Twenty seven in our party were killed. One of my friends told the attackers that they were good people and what they did was wrong and the society did not expect this from them.

Thirty eight participants attended the dialogue in Nagpur at the beautiful Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Mr Nizar Juma opened the dialogue, “Many countries in the west are on the verge of bankruptcy. There is a shift of power. Real power is coming back from the west to the east.”

It was quite well summed up by Ram Bhogle, MD, Nirlep Group, "We have not generally thought of ourselves as powerful but empowered. Only God really has power. When we think that we are powerful, we become destructive.

With the backdrop of the emergence of the voice for women's empowerment in India, we held our 16th dialogue in the culturally rich city of Kolkata at the ITC Sonar on 22nd December, 2012. The diversity and depth amongst the 52 participants highlighted, among other things, the awareness of the responsibility which comes with power. In the city which has led many social reforms, the participant words echoed those of great leaders which have spread from West Bengal - Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekanand and Mother Theresa.
